"I am also totally thrilled, and surprised at his success in the show pen! If you look at the show leaders in the AQHA Journal, current issue August 2008, you will find that "Radical Renegade" is ranked #2 in the Green Western Pleasure Division. Gunner first started showing in the Green WP division while at the Florida circuits in 1/08, though I think he only showed a couple times. Around mid-March we started showing him regularly in this division, starting with Karen showing him, then Ty became a permanent fixture on Gunner after he won at the Springfield, Ohio Spring Circuit. There is no stopping this handsome boy...he consistently receives 1st and 2nd in classes of 15 -25. In fact, the Green WP numbers are far stronger than the Junior WP,. so this is a quickly growing division. As you know, Gunner then was reserve champ in the 3 you Nov Horse Class @ Tom Powers, and reserve champ in the 3 yo Ltd Open Class. Next stop was Southern Belle, and again with Ty riding, Gunner added another reserve to his show record! I have either won, or placed very high in the Amateur WP; imagine that on a 3 year old! 2 out of 3 judges at Tom Powers placed me 1st in a tough Am WP class; so it's not just the little local shows that we are having success; it's at the big stuff!!!! Hallelujah! I have qualified, and will be showing Gunner at the AQHA World Show in Am WP November 2008. This just FAR exceeds my dreams with him, and I believe 5W is a large part of his well-being. … We leave for the Reichert this weekend; he will be showing in the Nov Horse, and me in the 3 YO Non Pro. Up till now, I have showed him primarily in AQHA classes, since I have another 3 YO mare that I've been showing in the NSBA Futurities. But here forward-Gunner is going to be my futurity horse!! We get along so well in the pen! We will also be showing him in the NSBA World Show the 3rd week of August in Tulsa...again Ty in the Novice, and me in the 3 YO Non Pro....sooo if things go well, maybe we'll have a World Champ title to add to his credits! Gunner won the NSBA 4340 Three Year Old Novice Western Pleasure on 8/23/08 at the Reichert Championship Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
